A to Z Management Consulting is seeking qualified Medical Laboratory Technologists (MLT) / Medical Laboratory Scientists (MLS) to support Naval Medical Center San Diego.
Schedule
Services are provided Monday through Friday between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Shifts may be 8.5, 9.5, or 10.5 hours and include an unpaid 30- to 60-minute meal period.
Employees will not be required to work more than 80 hours in a two-week period.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of a medical laboratory science program accredited by NAACLS or ABHES, or another educational program acceptable to AMT; OR
- Bachelor’s degree in the sciences with an acceptable certification
- Current certification/registration through ASCP, AMT, or equivalent
- MLT certification required
- One year of Medical Laboratory Scientist experience within the past two years is preferred but not required
- Current BLS certification
Responsibilities
- Perform clinical laboratory testing in areas including hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, serology, microbiology, and blood bank
- Evaluate specimen suitability and prepare specimens for analysis
- Prepare reagents and reference materials
- Calibrate, standardize, adjust, and maintain laboratory instruments
- Perform quality-control checks and troubleshoot routine equipment issues
- Review and correlate analytical data to verify results
- Maintain quality-control and quality-assurance records
- Prepare specimens for transport or mail-out
- Handle biological waste in accordance with required procedures
