Not necessarily. Since AS9120 includes ISO 9001 requirements, many distributors pursue AS9120 directly rather than getting ISO 9001 first. If you already have ISO 9001, the project may move faster because some quality management foundations are already in place. If you do not, AS9120 implementation can still be built from the ground up as a single certification path.
